Why Halo & Wren Isn't for Every Bride – And Why I'm Proud of That
When I opened Halo & Wren, I wanted to create the bridal boutique I wished had existed when I was searching for my own wedding dress.
Like many brides, my journey started with a single image on Pinterest. I found the gown and instantly fell in love. There was just one problem—it wasn't available anywhere near me, and when I finally found it, it was far beyond my budget.
That moment sent me on what became a two-year search.
I travelled across the country, visited countless bridal boutiques, queued outside sample sales before sunrise, tried on more dresses than I could possibly remember and convinced myself that the next boutique might have the answer. I even had a replica of my dream gown made... a decision I still laugh about today.
At the time, I believed that seeing more gowns would make the decision easier.
It did the opposite.
The more I looked, the more overwhelmed I became. Every appointment introduced another possibility. Every boutique gave me another opinion. Instead of feeling closer to finding my dress, I felt further away.
When I eventually looked back on my journey, I realised something important.
The problem wasn't that there weren't enough beautiful gowns.
The problem was that nobody was helping me make a confident decision.
That realisation became the foundation of Halo & Wren.
We Don't Want to Be Every Bride's First Stop
Over the years, Halo & Wren has grown into an award-winning boutique with incredible designers from around the world, but something else has become clear to me.
Many brides now visit bridal boutiques simply because it's another appointment to tick off the list.
They want to "see what's out there."
They want "the experience."
They're collecting opinions before they're truly ready to choose.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with that.
But I've realised it isn't who Halo & Wren is for.
We've Chosen to Be Different
Today, we're intentionally different.
We don't believe finding your wedding dress should require ten appointments.
We don't believe more choice always leads to a better decision.
We don't believe trying on fifty dresses helps you recognise the one.
Instead, we've built Halo & Wren around thoughtful curation, expert styling and honest guidance.
Every designer in our boutique has earned their place.
Every gown has been chosen for a reason.
Every appointment is designed to help you move closer to your decision—not further away from it.
We're Not for Every Bride
And that's okay.
If you're looking to spend the day trying on lots of different styles just to see what's available, there are wonderful boutiques that are perfect for that journey.
If you're expecting rails and rails of hundreds of gowns, we probably won't be the right fit either.
But if you've started to understand your style...
If you're excited to find your gown rather than simply browse...
If you value expert advice over endless opinions...
If you'd rather visit one carefully curated boutique than five identical ones...
Then I genuinely believe you'll love Halo & Wren.
My Promise
Every decision we've made—from the designers we stock to the appointment process we've introduced—has one purpose.
To help our brides confidently choose the gown they'll walk down the aisle in.
Not because they ran out of boutiques to visit.
Not because someone persuaded them.
But because, together, we recognised the moment they found the one.
That, to me, is what bridal should be.
And if that sounds like the journey you're looking for, I can't wait to welcome you to Halo & Wren.
